Kids Praise & Worship

Sometimes, in the midst of trying so hard to get done with our Math or Language Arts assignments (and so on) I have been guilty of neglecting praise and worship. I'm so thankful for the Lord's gracious reminder to set Him first in our sights each day and to worship Him for who He is.

One of the best worship leaders for kids (that I am currently aware of) is Jana Alayra. Her lyrics are biblical, her melodies are beautiful, and her true love for Christ always shines through. In honor of our wonderful Savior, I thought I would post this beautiful song:

Story Highlight: Caterpillar Crunch

One morning the kids and I were headed over to the "school house" when the children discovered a caterpillar crawling around! I was so amused to realize that they were actually disgusted by the little guy. After a moment of observation they decided it looked too "spikey." (We had recently seen a "fuzzy" one at the church garden that perhaps had a friendlier appearance.) Well, a moment later we herded into our little classroom for circle time and I forgot all about Mr. Spike expecting to hear nothing more on this topic! However, during break while the children were all outside to play, I met with Tia and a very sad frown. She very pathetically said, "Momma, that caterpillar is never gonna be a butterfly." I said, "Oh, honey, well, of course it will! We just have to be patient! Then quite unexpectedly she said, "But...I stepped on it."

Then I realized: The next time I engage in a scientific discussion with one of the kids I probably ought to gather a bit more information. (This event took place on 8/12/09.)
